Salim Papa Were, a former Makerere University guild president started the New Year on a good note with a visit to his fiancée’s home in Kyankwanzi district.
In a bid to legalise their relationship, Hope Katushabe was all smiles as her family met Papa Were in a traditional kukyala ceremony last week on Saturday 4, 2019. Katushabe is a student at Makerere University awaiting graduation next week on January 14, 2019.
The 84th guild president looked elegant in a grey waistcoat and trouser matched with a navy blue coat. He paired the suit with a pink shirt and a grey tie with navy blue patterns.
The red lapel and the pocket breast cloth on the coat added a touch of elegance to the outfit.
Katushabe looked dashing in a purple mushanana well-coordinated with gold pearls as accessories for her head, neckline and hand.
She later changed into beautiful peach ballroom dress designed with navy blue patterns while maintaining the same accessories.
The personalised white and pasture boards designed with their names and floral designs added a touch of class to their ceremony.
Their dress code colours like red, pink, purple, peach and gold were also reflected on their personalised boards and décor arrangement.
He was escorted by fellow student leaders like Jothan Yamureebire Burubuto, a former two time Speaker of Makerere University Guild and president of Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA). Yamureebire was also the best man of Papa Were.
The two are reported to have been dating since 2016.
