Everything had become so stressful, expensive and worst of all, their families were pulling them in different directions.<\/p>\n<p>One morning, just nine months before the actual day, the couple woke up and decided to cancel all their wedding plans, go in for something simple, and opt for a mega honeymoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe called two of our best friends, I ran to the store and bought a $50 (nearly 180000 Uganda shillings) white dress and we were married three hours later,\u201d Thomas said.<\/p>\n<p>The couple then used the money they had saved for their wedding ceremony to book trips to Greece, Italy, Hawaii, and Morocco.<\/p>\n<p>According to Thomas weddings are \u201coverwhelmingly overpriced\u201d and people should take motivation from her own insight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s your life and you should celebrate it however you want,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Rashim Nabanja A couple in New York chose to drop all their expensive wedding plans that were to take up 15000 USD, nearly Shs54 million and opted to go in for a beautiful honeymoon adventure in three different countries and one state.
