Experts describe narcissism as a personality disorder where one has a grandiose sense of self-importance, a lack of empathy for others, a need for excessive admiration and the belief that they are unique and deserving of special treatment. Most of us have at one point or another displayed at least one narcissistic trait.\u00a0 Although they are considered narcissistic behaviours, the difference from someone with narcissism personality disorder (NDP) is in severity, frequency and duration.
