Politician, Lawyer, businessman and human rights activist Hon Fred Mukasa Mbidde officially wedded his fiance Phiona Nayebale, at Uganda Martyrs Basilica, Munyonyo yesterday, Friday April 28, 2023<\/p>\n

The wedding follows an intimate introduction and give away ceremony that was held a few days ago where Phiona was officially handed over to Mukasa\u2019s family in what is commonly known as \u2018Okuhigira\u2019 ceremony.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Mbidde was first introduced to the family of Nayebale in a traditional Gusaba ceremony, which took place in December, 2019 before the COVID-19 lockdown.<\/p>\n

The much anticipated multimillion wedding reception took place at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, attended by very many distinguished guests including politicians; Hon Nobert Mao, the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy peaker of Parliament, prominent businessmen, celebrities among others.<\/p>\n

Haruna Kasolo, the finance state minister was Mbidde\u2019s best man.\"\"<\/p>\n

The guests were entertained by several musicians including Bebe Cool, Chameleon, Nina Rose among others.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Hon Mbidde promised to love and protect his now official wife Phiona for the rest of the days.<\/p>\n

While speaking at the introduction ceremony that took place a few days back, Hon Mao had described Hon Mbidde as a trustworthy friend with thick skin yet soft on the inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cInside that mask that you see is a soft, emotional and a very loving gentleman. It is only if you get close to him that you will be able to experience that inner person of Hon Mbidde,\u201d Mao said.\"\"<\/p>\n

He further congratulated the couple for making\u00a0 the important decision to legalize their union,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most important thing in life is to decide. Life is easy when you decide.\u00a0 Failing to make a decision has made a lot of people to remain in doubt and live unfruitful lives. I want to thank Hon Mbidde and Fiona for making a decision to be together and we are here to celebrate that decision. \u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mbidde\u2019s first wife, Bukomansimbi Woman MP Susan Namaganda passed on in a road accident on the Kampala-Masaka highway in 2015.<\/p>\n
