{"id":6267,"date":"2018-10-16T13:36:30","date_gmt":"2018-10-16T13:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/?p=6267"},"modified":"2018-10-17T15:23:29","modified_gmt":"2018-10-17T15:23:29","slug":"33yr-old-woman-fakes-wedding-on-facebook-in-kinshasa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/?p=6267","title":{"rendered":"33 year old woman &#8216;fakes wedding on Facebook&#8217; in Kinshasa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While we still grapple with taking in the reality of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wedding\/32yr-old-ugandan-woman-marries-self-to-silence-pressure-from-parents.html\">32 year old Ugandan woman who \u2018married herself\u2019 to silence marriage pressure from her parents,<\/a>\u00a0another woman has yet broken the internet with her fake wedding on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Arl\u00e8ne Agneroh, a 33 year old from Congo faked her marriage after a mutual friend posted a picture of her sited with a male friend during a wedding which went viral on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">Ms. Agneroh coaches entrepreneurs and offers personal development training for a living. Considering Agneroh&#8217;s\u00a0 friends and family consider her a woman who has it all; the career, education and beauty-but a man.\u00a0 They all concluded that the last\u00a0 piece to\u00a0 completing\u00a0 perfect life for Agneroh had arrived; a man.<\/p>\n<p>Agneroh explains that it is common in Congolese weddings for guests invited by the bride to wear clothes with matching patterns, while those invited by the groom wear\u00a0 a different style. That is how\u00a0Ms. Agneroh who had sat next to her good friend, Jean-F\u00e9lix Mwema Ngandu took a photo in matching outfits.<\/p>\n<p>In a few minutes,\u00a0the friend who had taken their photo and posted it on Facebook had his phone buzzing non-stop. When he looked at it, he started laughing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What&#8217;s happening?&#8221; Ms Agneroh remembers inquiring.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everyone thinks you two got married!&#8221; the friend answered.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was completely crazy. In a matter of minutes, dozens of people had commented on the picture and sent me messages of congratulations,&#8221; Ms Agneroh told the BBC.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6270\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6270\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6270 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/wedding-photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"508\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/wedding-photo.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/wedding-photo-120x86.jpg 120w, https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/wedding-photo-300x218.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/wedding-photo-600x435.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6270\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>The photo which was widely shared after being mistaken for a relationship alert<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Finding it amusing, the two friends decided to keep the story going. They posed for a second picture, this time sitting in the &#8220;thrones&#8221; reserved for the married couple.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mwema Ngandu, 32, acknowledges they knew would they would &#8220;create a buzz&#8221; and that it was carefully planned. This time, they waited a few hours after sharing the photo on another friend&#8217;s Facebook page before checking the reaction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When I woke up the next morning, I had, without exaggerating, several hundred missed calls, WhatsApp and Facebook messages,&#8221; Ms Agneroh said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some were from people I haven&#8217;t spoken to in 10, even 15 years. I don&#8217;t know how these people even got my number.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6269 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/pic2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/pic2.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/pic2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mywedding.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/pic2-600x338.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>The friends intentionally pose holding hands to give an illusion of a relationship<\/em><strong><em>I am still up for grabs<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once the pair started getting messages from friends abroad saying they were planning to fly back to Kinshasa for the &#8220;wedding&#8221;, Ms Agneroh decided enough was enough and revealed the truth on her Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>She posted;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;These picture show two young people photographed by their friends, with no comment or allusion to marriage but that&#8217;s what you all chose to interpret.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Without even asking any questions, you&#8217;ve shared the picture, creating your own little story. Thanks to you, I&#8217;ve started compiling a list of guests for my wedding!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;But for now, those who&#8217;ve wanted to seduce me and but were always afraid, here&#8217;s my message: I&#8217;m still on the market but not focused on finding a husband.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;So be patient\u2026 The lesson to learn is think before you act and look for context.
