Joseph Emanuel Kayuki, 42, a clinical officer at Kagadi Hospital walked down the aisle\u00a0with Neoline Namutebi 32, a teacher at Masaka S.S, on September 1, 2018.<\/p>\n

When and how did you meet?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: I met my wife at Kyamulibwa Health Centre\u00a0where I was working with her elder\u00a0sister in 2003.<\/p>\n

Neoline:<\/strong> I met him during my Senior Six vacation in 2003 at a health centre\u00a0in Kyamulibwa, Kalungu District. He was my sister\u2019s workmate.\"\"<\/p>\n

When did you eventually get close?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> She used to\u00a0come at\u00a0my work place, we became friends and after she started visiting me at home especially over the weekends.<\/p>\n

Neoline: I<\/strong> was studying at Uganda Christian University -Mukono. We both used\u00a0to check\u00a0on each other in Mukono and Kalungu. Joseph could provide with me upkeep, gifts and sometimes he could\u00a0top up on my tuition\u00a0fees, he really invested a lot\u00a0of resources in me and was always there for me.<\/p>\n

We also used to hang out in different places, started feeling differently for each other and\u00a0later bonded more.\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What attracted you to each other?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: Her maturity, body size, honesty, kindness, patience, beautiful, loving, caring and being supportive. She is self-contained.<\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong>: Joseph was promising, God-fearing, caring, loyal, loving, handsome and reliable in everything that came out of him.\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why did you take long to propose?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: After completing her bachelor\u2019s\u00a0degree in Education, we\u00a0agreed to\u00a0first bear children,\u00a0build a permanent house, and set up income generating business\u00a0as well as saving for our wedding.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>What was the proposal like?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> There was no formal proposal, it was just a discussion which we agreed upon to legalise our marriage in 2018 after 10 years. \"\"<\/p>\n

Neoline, how did you react about the proposal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong> (Laugh)<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>: It was a romantic night on our bed when we agreed to mark a certain date for our kukyala<\/em> at the beginning\u00a0of\u00a0 2018. I was over joyed and I believed\u00a0him since he always kept his promises.<\/p>\n

What was your budget?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: Shs50m for both wedding and introduction. We both contributed 65 per cent and the rest was raised by friends and family.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>What was the most expensive item?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> Food cost Shs7m.<\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong>: Decor went for Shs3.5m.\"\"<\/p>\n

Did you involve a wedding planner?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: No, we only had a wedding committee chaired by my brother Ivan Yiga, Dr Martin Muddu and Eddy Bagyire helped us to organise everything and getting good service providers.<\/p>\n

What was your wedding eve like?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: I was finalising with service providers, putting final touches to everything.<\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong>: We had our introduction on a Thursday and so\u00a0I was at home\u00a0relaxing.\"\"<\/p>\n

Did you go for premarital counselling?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph: Yes,<\/strong> we went\u00a0to catechist,\u00a0Ms Najja Nakabuye at Kitovu Cathedral and we learnt a lot\u00a0of things including how to handle conflicts in the family, be forgiving to each other, loving and caring to each other.<\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong>: My areas of interest were\u00a0on\u00a0conflicts, patience, understanding and trusting each other in Marriage and these were tackled very well.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Where did you shop for your attire?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph: I<\/strong> got my suit in one of the shops in Kampala at Shs700, 000.My attires altogether cost Shs1.5m including shoes and the changing.<\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong>: I bought my attire from Irene\u00a0Bridals at DTB Plaza costing Shs2m altogether. I got the jewellery from one of the shops at Mutaasa Kafeero Plaza.\"\"<\/p>\n

What was the most exciting moment on your wedding?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> The church session was so exciting and looking at my wife well dressed in a gown. She looked elegant.<\/p>\n

Neoline:<\/strong> Joseph was so smart, entering the reception and the decor were all exciting to me.<\/p>\n

Were you disappointed on your function?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph: <\/strong>No, everything went perfectly.<\/p>\n

Neoline:<\/strong> Two groomsmen who failed to turn up\u00a0at the last moment.\"\"<\/p>\n

Did you go for honeymoon and where did you go?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> Yes went at Hotel Brovad in Masaka where we spent two days.We enjoyed the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Neoline\u00a0<\/strong>: We got relaxed at Hotel Brovad where we enjoyed good memories\u00a0away from home.<\/p>\n

Who comprised of your entourage\u00a0and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> Charles Bukenya, my best man\u00a0who is our long-time friend and he pledged to cater and facilitate his attires.<\/p>\n

The groomsmen were my wife’s workmates who also catered for their attires. The pageboys included Zodo Nsibambi, my nephew and a friend’s son.\"\"<\/p>\n

Neoline:<\/strong> My Matron was Sylvia\u00a0Nyangoma, a long time workmate\u00a0 who is married and a best friend. Then the bridesmaids included Agnes Nankya, Dr Faith Ssemwanga, Christine Nanozi, Maria Asumpta Nakalema and Patricia who are\u00a0 \u00a0also my good\u00a0 friends.<\/p>\n

The flower girls included Flavia Kebirungi, the matron’s daughter and Merlyn Nameere who is a sister-in law’s\u00a0daughter.<\/p>\n

Did you have any debts after the wedding?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong>: No.\"\"<\/p>\n

What is your advice to those planning to wed?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joseph:<\/strong> Those planning to wed should save for the weddings to avoid stress and pressure.<\/p>\n

They should also plan within their means and stop over relying on pledges because sometimes people fail to fulfil\u00a0what their promises.<\/p>\n

Neoline<\/strong>: Those planning to wed should have faith and be ready for marriage.
