For someone to wed after days or a few months of dating, many question if their marriage will last because they have not created sufficient time to know each other.
This notion has been proven not to be 100% factual after a Ghanaian couple amazed many online followers for celebrating 37 years in marriage yet they wedded three days after meeting.
Their daughter identified as Thugnificent Jackson shared this revelation on her twitter account while congratulating her parents for their many years in marriage.
Jackson said her parents met in the 1980s at a village and got married three days after in a small wedding.
She also shared a photo of her parents back then as a young couple all looking love dovey.
The young lady accompanied the photo with a caption written, “My parents got married three days after they met. They just celebrated 37 years. Love knows no timeline.”
Jackson also added a photo of her father now at 65 years old and other photos of her mother back then and now as 54 year old celebrating her 37 years in marriage.
“This was my mom then and now. Last 37 years have been good to her. She’s 54 in the second pic,” she wrote.
Many asked for the secret to this long-lasting marriage and their daughter said that it has been a joint input from the two that have enabled their relationship to stand the test of time.
” My mom is impossibly understanding and tolerant though so please don’t try this at home,” she said. “I should also add that my dad is not a ‘typical African man’. He cooks if necessary, cleans up after himself, and listens when you talk.”
This goes to show us that how long you date doesn’t necessarily determine the longevity of a marriage. It is your willingness to put in effort and make it work that counts.
