Earlier on March 14th, the former Kamwokya LC1 Chairman, Fred Ssentamu Nyanzi, commonly known as Chairman Nnyanzi posted on his Facebook page how he was excited to finally legalise his relationship with longtime partner Marjorine Namukisa Katumba.
“God is great!!!…….This is the day of my introduction ceremony, and the man in me feels satisfaction of worth,” he wrote.
“Majorine, the daughter of the Late Robinson Katumba, a pioneer Constitutional Assembly delegate of the 1995 Constitution representing Kiboga West, is going to introduce me officially to her family. This is going to take place at their ancestral home in Kiboga, Kyankwanzi,” he added.
The politician went ahead to thank his family, friends and especially his wife who have stood by him through thick and thin.
“I would like to thank my Comrades, friends and family who have stood with me amidst terrible challenges. I love you Majorine and I thank you for being patient all these years. It has not been easy,” he wrote before he set off to be introduced.
The ceremony took place on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Marjorine’s home in Kiboga, Kyankwanzi district. It was a political affair as Nyanzi is the elder brother of presidential aspirant and MP Kyandondo East Constituency Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine.
The groom’s entourage attracted a lot of attention and gathered crowds who wanted to have a glimpse of Bobi Wine. This transpired from their journey in Kampala to the venue upcountry.
At the venue, most of the male guests on the groom’s entourage were adorned in people power red barrettes.
The groom who is also an enthusiast of the movement wore a white kanzu designed with red embroidery around the collar, and front of his attire.
He paired the kanzu with a grey waist coat which had a purple lapel and a cream and white boutonniere on his coat.
His bride, Marjorine wore a white gomesi with red dots spread on the top and bottom of her outfit. The red sash added a pop of colour to her outfit.
For the venue decoration, the couple went or light colours like white, peach and light purple.
The crowds became excited when presidential spirant Robert Kyagulanyi was given the platform to openly declare his presidential aspirant bid.
Aside from the political discussions, the ceremony was filled with lots of dancing and jubilation. This was especially for the groom who energetically danced to every song with his wife.
There were performances from artists like Eddie Yawe, a young brother to the groom, Hillary Kiyaga commonly known as Dr Hilderman, among others.
This traditional wedding comes after a lavish wedding launch at Kati Kati Gardens in Lugogo, Kampala which the couple had on January 24, 2020.
This is where they revealed about their traditional wedding plans and thereafter finalise everything in a holy matrimony on October 21, 2020, at Rubaga Cathedral, Kampala.
The couple are legalising their relationship after 18 years of staying together.
We congratulate the couple on this step of legalising their marriage.
