Last week we run a story of Boniface Ong’era Masese, a Kenyan high school teacher who excited readers after he proposed to girlfriend, Turah Mokeira in the Daily Nation newspaper.
News reaching our desk is that the high school teacher’s girlfriend said yes to his marriage proposal while they were out on a date.
In a Facebook post, Ong’era announced to his followers that Mokeira had said, “Yes!” to his proposal.
The high school teacher shared photos of the special moment wherein one he is seen on one knee presenting the ring to his girlfriend.
Mokeira was in a black and white fur coat while Ong’era was in a red Manchester United jersey.
After his new fiancée said yes, Ong’era is seen kissing her hand after he had slipped the engagement ring onto her finger. On another photo, the couple is seen embracing each other in a tight hug.
Ong’era creatively decided to pop the big question to Mokeira through a newspaper article on his birthday, February 29.
It happened to be the teacher’s 28th birthday when he contacted a newspaper to have a tiny article published about his womb escape day.
The teacher said as someone with a rural background, birthdays were not a big deal and that is why he didn’t believe in celebrating one up today.
However, this time around his birthday meant so much to him because he anticipated doing something special.
To those online readers who anticipated what Mokeira’s answer will be, here you have your answer. Congratulations Ong’era and Mokeira on your engagement.
