A newly wedded couple has touched the hearts of many after they stopped to help road accident victims despite it being their wedding day.
Sarah and Jonathan, both doctors on February 17, 2020 after finishing with their wedding ceremony didn’t anticipate what lay ahead as they drove to their reception at a hotel in Krabi, Thailand. The two are said to be foreign tourists in the Asian country.
They stopped mid-way their journey after witnessing an accident where a pick-up truck and a motorcycle collided. Despite being off-duty, the two medical practitioners rushed to the accident scene to offer first aid to the causality.
According to an unidentified eye witness, the motorcycle driver lay on the ground with injures on both legs.
“Jonathan held the man’s head stable while Sarah treated his leg injuries after diverting traffic until the rescue team came,” the eye witness said. “They were still both wearing their wedding gown and suit but they didn’t mind.”
Luckily the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and he was immediately rushed to the hospital by the rescue team for further treatment.
A former rescue unit volunteer identified as Somsak Srijan is reported to have captured the touching moment in a video and uploaded it on social media. It was also Somsak who identified the couple as Sarah and Jonathan.
This act is a true definition of selfless service and proves that no one is ever too busy to help others, it is all about priorities. This couple was loyal to their profession of saving a life even if they were off duty by that time.
