Amos Masaba Wekesa, founder Great Lakes Safaris Limited took to his official Facebook page yesterday to share the news of his 17th wedding anniversary with wife, Susan Amy Wekesa of American descent.
The tourism investor also took the chance to remind his followers that it was the World Tourism Day. He wrote, “Every 27th September is World Tourism Day and also our marriage anniversary. Today we make 17 years!!”
“With marriage, you thank God for every passing day, every week, every month and every year. Being human, anything can go wrong anytime reason you thank god for it,” he added.
Wekesa later posted a photo with his wife during the celebrations. He captioned it,
“Pic taken today at Cafe Roma Muyenga after our anniversary lunch. Our anniversary cost us USD20 and we Thank God.”
Wekesa is well known for his contributions to the tourism sector in this country through promotional tactics that he employs to boost Uganda’s tourist sites on the International scene.
This led him to be trusted with the position of being a member of the board of directors of the Uganda Tourism Board and also as the former president of the Uganda Tourism Association. He is also a businessman, entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
His wife, Susan came to Uganda in 2001 as a Christian missionary, originally from the USA as a graduate with a degree in Sociology at Western Washington University. Her career path changed and she co-founded Great Lakes Safaris with Wekesa after they got married in 2003.
The couple has been blessed with three children together, two sons and one daughter. Happy wedding anniversary to the couple!!
