Easter Ampumuza and I went to the same high school and at the time she joined, I was in Form Six and also the judge of the students’ body which made me very popular and one of the most powerful students in the compound. After my reign, Easter became the Head Girl and she was popular and respected especially among her peers for the two years she spent at St. Joseph’s High School Namagunga
Of course, I and my mates quickly noticed a very beautiful, differential, intelligent, strong in speech new student and I immediately made a move. In a very polite low tone, I was advised to concentrate and read my books instead. In my mind, I was like “wait a minute, so she thinks I’m not a serious student”. At that time, I was always one of the best students in my class and I wanted her to know that as much as I was making this move, I’m also smart in class.
Unfortunately, this came at a time when I was almost out of high school and that meant I had very little time to convince Easter of my candidature. When I joined University a year later, I decided to be patient and wait for her at University and at this point, I was convinced she would have all the freedom to visit me at hostel or even let me take her out on weekends.
When Ampumuza joined University, it was completely the total opposite of my expectations, when she insisted and maintained the same High school position “Adolf, concentrate and read your books”. I tried several times to reach out to Easter on Facebook but she even stopped that communication. I had to open up a new Facebook page to access her and this second Facebook page is the reason she’s now my wife.
For me, it was never a debate on who I should marry. My prayer was consistent from high school, “God I want to marry Ampumuza Easter”. I never gave God options. I did not want someone like Easter but Easter herself.
I never allowed a spiritual conference on the characteristics of the wife I wanted to marry. It was about Easter. From this time, I was ready to pay whatever it would cost me to have Easter as my wife, and fortunately for me all I paid was prayer. One thing I was always convinced of was that the day Easter will give me an audience
was the day she will say “I DO”. After University, Easter shared her number with me on Facebook, I called her and from our first conversation, today, we have already had our kukyala visit and will have our Kukyala in December.
I always wanted to be in a relationship with Adolf Akugizibwe but I never believed at that time he wanted me for marriage. I still feel that if we had started this relationship then, by now we wouldn’t be together. I feel now is the right time. I thank God Adolf accepted to be patient with me and never got tired of waiting even when I kept him waiting for this long.
