Everyman in love would really like to make his woman feel good, this is why when it comes to marriage proposals, many do something extra that will make their girls feel really special.

“A few days ago, a couple made rounds on the Internet after a person who goes by the twitter handle @butterfly_Anele mocked the guy on twitter for proposing to his girl at KFC. Anele whose profile states she is a journalist and events coordinator took to her timeline trashing the guy. She wrote,

“SA men are so broke they even propose at KFC…they have absolutely no class, I mean who proposes at KFC. #kfc proposal.”

She also went ahead and took photos of the couple. Unbeknownst to her, the unkind tweet went viral creating a path for the couple to earn itself a big wedding.

After the hashtag ‘#kfc proposal’ became popular, the South African couple identified as Hector and Nonhlanhla got themselves over 70 brands willing to cater for most of their wedding and honeymoon expenses.

Using twitter, Brands like Woolworth SA, a multinational retail company offered them R15k, over Shs3.7 million for the wedding, CocaCola also offered to cater for their drinks at the wedding free of charge, Lion lager also pledged R5000 approximately Shs1.2 million, Kulula holidays promised to take charge of their honeymoon holidays as Audi South Africa pledged to be in charge of the transport thought the entire honeymoon.

Many other brands and also individuals took to their twitter handles and pledged a number of contributions like the music for the wedding, the outfits, rings, makeup and photography and wedding venue for the couple.

Amazingly, the couple also doesn’t have to worry about the marriage certificate since it also has a sponsor.

Looks like a couple that was trying to have their way through a normal legal union may end up having a grand ceremony of the year courtesy of just a simple tweet.

Watch video of the proposal.
