Olurotimi Akinosho, professionally known as Rotimi and Girlfriend Vanessa Mdee are now officially engaged. The couple announced the news to their fans through their instagram pages earlier on today.
Sharing a video of Vanessa showing off her sparkling Diamond ring, Rotimi captioned it saying, “She said YES! You are my everything. My angel. In 2015 I prayed that whoever my wife was going to be and wherever she was at the moment I hoped that she was happy, having a good day and receiving God’s abundance. First forward…YOU…you make me a better man..I’m in debt to God for you. I will pay him back by loving you and giving you everything that you deserve. Nakupenda.”
Sharing the same video on her instagram page, Vanessa accompanied it with another video revealing that it took her only two days to decide that Rotimi was the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with.
In her caption, the musician says the world laughed at her when she made this decision but she didn’t blame them because it is an uncommon feeling when you meet your soul mate.
“The answer is YES! YES TO my best friend, YES to my soul mate, YES to the love of my life. Over and over and over again in ever life time. How you located me in this time and loved me in ways only you could is a testament to God’s divine order of things and FAVOUR and GRACE.”
The couple met at Essence festival, (the largest African-American culture and music event in the U.S) and got to know each other more. Vanessa later came back to Africa for work and after a month of long distance communication, the couple went on their first official date and Vanessa made the decision to relocate. The couple is currently residing in Atlanta.

Rotimi is a musician/actor famously known for his role as Dre in hit American series, Power. Vanessa on the other hand is a Tanzanian musician/songwriter.
