A Life with Emmanuel is all i know, Mutebile’s wife discloses

During the late Emmanuel Mutebile’s vigil that happened at Kololo grounds today, friday 28, January 2022, his late wife Betty sent out a heart melting speech narrating  some happy moments they shared and enlightening more on who he really was behind closed doors.

According to Betty, the two first met when the situation in uganda was very unstable. At that time they were not sure if they would stay in uganda or go in to exile like his UPM colleagues.

Fortunately they managed to keep around until stability returned and they were able to wed at all saints church over forty years ago.

The two have stayed together for more than half of their lives and according to her, life with him is all she knows.

Who was Emmanuel?

Betty shares that it took her some to understand who Mutebile was reason being he didn’t talk much and she rarely knew what he was thinking.

He liked to be formal in most of his dealings and was such a smart gentleman.

She continues to say that Mutebile was such a caring person to the point that he would let her dress first just to make sure that he picked a tie that matched her outfit well, “On weekends, he wanted to wear attires similar so that we could match.”

Betty continues to share that her husband always wanted her to be as perfect as he was and also be careful in all her dealings, “He taught me think before speaking and to ignore petty things. I remember one time someone talked to us in a very unpleasant way which offended me. I later confronted him about it and his response was, ‘fortunately for me Betty i have the ability to keep quiet.”

She says that she later discovered it was something scriptural to over look an insult and she has since followed it.

Betty adds that when it came to family, despite his busy schedules, he loved his family and always had time for them. Whenever he was in the country, he would make sure to spend time with them and have all meals with us.

When it came to his clubs like rotary and incafex friends, he considered them family too.

“In rotary he regestered 100% attendence because whenever he traveled he woild make sure he attended rotary wherever it was, she adds.

Betty adds that Mutebile respected all kinds of people and made everyone feel special regardless of who they where or where they came from.

Sundays at their home was made an open house day and  a big buffet would be prepared for their visitors and whoever wanted to see him would come sunday lunch time and after then he would get one on one time with everyone who wanted to see him.

Mutebile loved his job and served deligently with all his strength and gave it his all. When Betty noticed this, she decided to put all her personal things on pose and focus on him and she is entirely proud and grateful of it.

She therefore thanked God for Mutebile’s life and for enabling him to serve the nation, family and all the people who touched him. She also gave out thanks to the president of Uganda for the trust and confidence he put in him to serve all these years inspiite of his health issues.

She also thanked everyone that managed to make the official send off for him because he was an official person.
