Usamah and Nahia met on Facebook. Usamah narrates their story.

I met Nahia on Facebook, a fascinating story if you ask me. One random day, as I’m browsing through Facebook I stumbled upon a profile of a very beautiful woman. I got tempted to check her profile out, and till today I’m grateful that it happened. I sent her a friend request, which of course, she didn’t accept.

I would send her messages every once in a while. She would see them but still not respond, until one day, with Allah’s blessing, she responded. I was glad she did because that became a stepping stone to me getting to know her more.

What made the relationship work?

To be honest, it’s religion that brought us together. We share that virtue! She’s also quite special. I remember when I was still trying to woo her, I would often offer to send her gifts, money and other offers and she would turn them down. I had to come up with unique ways to make this happen. Even now, gifting her is hard work, but it’s fulfilling when she finally accepts. To her, it is all just vanity. That is such a special character.

She’s also a decent woman, the kind my parents would be glad to have as a daughter-in-law.

However, when I got to know her more, I learned that there’s so much more to her; she possesses a beautiful heart and an entrepreneurial spirit. She and I run a successful business together, and I don’t think I would have managed to do it without her.

From then on, I learned that she was the one for me. We’ve been together for two years now, and I’m confident that we have so much more to do together.
