September 18, 2022, was a joyful day for retired UPDF military officer, General Salim Saleh as his daughter Esteri Mugurwa hosted her beau at a giveaway ceremony at Gen Saleh’s home in Buziga. Salim Saleh gave away his daughter to Ivan Bidna Muhoozi. The event was attended by members of the first family, senior security personnel, government officials, as well as top business leaders in the country.
Esteri Mugurwa is a daughter of Jovia and Gen Salim Saleh, real names Caleb Akandwanaho and she was named after her grandmother Esteri Kokundeko, renowned parent to His Excellency, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The bride is separated from Engineer Rowland Ndizeye Sekazinga with whom she shared a first marriage from 2009 to 2017.
During the celebrations, Gen Salim Saleh commented on the rumors in which he has been severely announced dead.
“I have forgiven all those that announced me dead because my job is to build the ground and I have never left the bush.”
The groom, Bidna, is a businessman and a close associate of former Johnnie Walker Uganda Ambassador and media personality, Marcus Kwikiriza.
Esteri Mugurwa is a Managing Partner at Axiom Group Uganda, a strategy and management consultancy firm. She is a graduate of the American University of Paris and a member of the Institute of National Transformation Alumnus and serves on the Boards of Maras Africa, Regent Estates Uganda, and Opal Mining Company.
