They say love does not ask why, and it also does not think twice. Indeed this was proven by a woman from Bangladesh who crossed the Sunderbans by swimming for an hour before meeting and marrying her partner, who she met over Facebook.

Despite not having a passport to travel to India, Krishna Mandal, a 22-year-old Bangladeshi woman managed to make her way to her Indian partner.

Krishna Mandal and Abhik Mandal originally connected online, where they found a common interest and fell in love.

Krishna set off on the difficult road. Avvording to Livemint website, the bride traveled through the Sunderbans, a region where the Royal Bengal Tiger and other wild animals live. The 22-year-old navigated numerous swamps and muddy trails in the mangrove forest. After that, Krishna swam across the Matla River for more than an hour and succeeded in getting to the other side.

In the South 24 Parganas area of West Bengal, in the village of Kaikhali, Krishna met Abhik. After that, the couple departed for Kolkata, where they got married at the Kalighat Temple.

When Krishna’s love tale became popular on social media, cops became interested. She was detained on Monday for entering the country unlawfully. She will reportedly be sent to the Bangladesh High Commission, according to reports.
