The Curate of St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe has cautioned married couples against splitting resources in families saying that this only weakens the institution of marriage.

The caution was reiterated by Rev. Edward Steven Kabanda during Mary’s Day commemoration prayers this afternoon.  During the prayers, over 15 married women were enrolled in the Mothers Union by the Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Rev. Canon Benon Kityo.

In his sermon, Rev. Kabanda said couples should not look at individual accumulation of wealth but rather working together to achieve prosperity and financial stability in their homes.

He said that happiness in families comes with responsibilities appealing to couples to always pay a price if peace and stability is to reign in homes.

Kabanda also cited a need for the married couples to invest time in the families and nurture responsible children.
