Gone are the days when weddings and introduction ceremonies were exclusively held on weekends. Nowadays, any day and time is considered suitable for such events, and August 12, in Kawanda, Katalemwa, proved just that.
On that day, gospel artists Levixone and Desire Luzinda, who have been dating for more than a year, took a major step towards legalising their relationship when Desire introduced Levixone to her parents.
During the dowry giving, Levixone arrived bearing several household items and food as part of the bride price. The moment drew in some of Uganda’s biggest entertainment names, including Salvado Idringi, A Pass, David Lutalo, VJ Junior, Ykee Benda, Halima Namakula, Exodus, Carol Nantongo, Brian Mulondo, Ray G, Truth 256, Madrat and Chiko, Pr. Bujingo, Martha Kay, Mickie Wine, and many others.
The celebrations did not start there. Just before the introduction, Desire was treated to a surprise bridal shower at the weekend. Organised by the couple’s close friends, the invite-only event overflowed with warmth, laughter, and gifts.
Their journey to this moment became public on July 26, 2025, when Levixone confirmed he had proposed to Desire. Sharing a video of the proposal on social media, with the Ekitone singer saying “yes”, he poured his heart out:
“For so many years, I kept this close to my heart, prayed for purpose, and God gave me the love of my life. He was writing a story I could not see, full of grace, joy, and quiet miracles. My best friend said ‘YES,’ my answered prayer, my forever, the Woman of God,” he wrote.
The couple now looks ahead to their wedding ceremony, set for August 15, another date sure to draw Uganda’s star power in full force.
