Every year, we have weddings that create a buzz around the Ugandan streets and 2022 was no different. From celebrity weddings to the common person, here are the weddings that had people talking this year.

Fatuma Asha and Juma Sempija

Designer Fatuma Asha and UK-based husband Juma Sempija had a wedding to talk about. With a proposal in France and three wedding ceremonies including a Muslim Nikkah wedding at Kibuli, a traditional wedding and a white destination wedding in Mombasa, the couple had us by the neck.

For all the functions, the couple was smartly dressed.

Lucy Smize Bunyenyezi and Henry Mulira

Content creator, also tycoon’s daughter Lucy Smize Bunyenyezi is only but a newlywed bride at the moment.

Known for the glamour she exudes on her Instagram pages, her wedding was not one to disappoint either. From their Namirembe Cathedral wedding to the black-themed changing attire of her entourage. The bride that got married on December 9  had a beautiful wedding that left netizens mesmerized.

Anitah ‘Fabiola’ Kyalimpa and Mark Ronald Mukiibi

“On my way to my husband’s home after they said I’d never get married because I am a slay queen.”

Reads one of Fabiola’s Instagram posts. The couple had their okugamba obugyenyi ceremony following their proposal in 2021 in the Maldives.

Their stunning photos made the rounds on social media, displaying beauty, class and style.

Dr Hajat Kulthum Nabunya and husband Eng Acram Gumisiriza

Being an ex-wife to the former mufti of Uganda Sheikh Muzaata, Kulthum’s second wedding created such a buzz.

The bride and her husband seemingly had to pull through some opposition as Eng Gumisiriza stated during their kwanjula, and we are happy to celebrate another love win with them.

Their kwanjula was also a wonder to behold as the bride received a brand-new car from her husband. The bride and her groom also wore West African inspired attires to celebrate their kwanjula.

Precious Remmie and Raymond Bindeeba

Former Spark Tv presenter had a bit of controversy when she decided to marry her husband Raymond Bindeeba. Many kept warning her off of what they referred to as a serial cheater.

The two however are now traditionally married and their relationship seems okay.

Photographer Edward Watson

The pictures of wedding photographer Edward Watson trended for their uniqueness. The kwanjula was a blend of old-school with a modern touch.

Desire Luzinda and Levixone

While they tried to hush the news of their introduction ceremony, the news of a union between Desire Luzinda, mostly known for her secular music and gospel Levixone artist trended this year. The couple feigned it was only a music video but as they continue to be seen continuously together, all we can do is congratulate them on the union.
