The “Bankuza” hitmaker recently said yes to a heartfelt proposal that has since sent her fans into a frenzy of celebration and well-wishes on social media. In a world where celebrity relationships often bloom and wither in the spotlight, Chosen Becky’s engagement feels like a rare love song; authentic, emotional, and enduring.

The engagement, which reportedly happened in a private, intimate setting, comes after years of a relatively low-key relationship with her longtime partner, known to many as Dictator Amir, a manager and music executive.

A love that grew behind the music
While Becky’s career has continued to rise, with hits such as “Tokyuka” and “Setula” solidifying her place in Uganda’s music scene, she has also nurtured a family life that remains close to her heart. She is often praised for balancing motherhood, music, and media pressure with surprising grace.
“Love is patient, love is kind, and I have lived that,” Chosen Becky shared in a brief but emotional Instagram post after the proposal, alongside photos showing her gleaming engagement ring. “I did not see this coming. I just felt it in my heart. Thank you, my love. I cannot wait to do life with you.”

From teenage mother to respected star
Chosen Becky’s journey has not been a fairy tale; it has been a testament to resilience and reinvention. She became a mother at a young age and faced social stigma that would have broken many. Instead, she turned her pain into poetry and lyrics that resonated with young women navigating love, loss, and second chances.
Her fans, especially women, see her as a relatable figure, one who did not hide her past but used it to fuel her present. In her music and interviews, she has been vocal about healing, growth, and finding joy on your own terms.

“Becky is one of those artists who feel real,” says Mariam Nansubuga, a long-time fan from Mbarara. “She is not perfect, but she is honest. You see her motherhood, her laughter, her vulnerability… and now, you see her finding happiness in love.”
The ring, the buzz, and what is next
Photos of her engagement ring, a sparkling silver band with a teardrop-cut stone, immediately lit up social media timelines. Fans, fellow artists, and influencers congratulated her, some jokingly asking for wedding invites.

“I think Becky deserves this moment,” fellow singer Lydia Jazmine commented on X (formerly Twitter). “She has stayed in her lane, done her thing, and loved quietly. I’m so happy for her.”
There is already speculation that a wedding could happen before the end of the year, but the couple has not yet revealed any plans. What is clear is that Chosen Becky is entering a new chapter, not just as a woman in love, but as a public figure whose
story keeps evolving.

Love in the spotlight
While many celebrities choose to keep their romantic lives under wraps, Becky has struck a balance, offering fans just enough to root for her happiness while keeping the most sacred parts of her relationship guarded. It is a strategy that has helped her avoid the tabloid pitfalls that plague many others in the industry.
In an industry that thrives on drama, Becky’s quiet commitment to peace, motherhood, and music is a refreshing alternative, and now, her engagement adds a poetic touch to her unfolding narrative.
As the Ugandan music scene continues to evolve, Chosen Becky’s voice is growing louder, both on stage and in life. And with a diamond ring now glinting on her finger, it is clear that this voice will be singing love songs for a long time to come.
