Every bride-to-be dreams of looking exquisite on their wedding day hence going to great lengths to achieve it. Tradition also plays a part by sending her to her aunt for extraordinary pampering. All this is done so she will come out looking strikingly beautiful on her big day. However, what if you have done all you possibly can to no avail, more so regarding your hair?

Here are some homemade remedies to help your hair achieve a bouncy, healthy and shiny look;

Coconut and mustard oil

If your hair is weak, this is the ideal treatment. Michael Ochieng, a seasoned hair stylist, says weak hair is a sign of pollution, stress, and poor nutrition. ”However, dryness could also cause your hair roots to weaken hence make the hair brittle. This treatment will give your hair strength and make it look bouncier and thicker by the time of your wedding.”

Procedure

4 teaspoons of coconut oil mixed with 4-5 teaspoons of mustard oil

Warm the mixture a bit

Massage the oil into the hair and scalp thoroughly though gently

Let it stay overnight and then rinse using mild shampoo the next day

Ochieng says doing this at least twice a week will give you for amazing results.

Essential oil mask

Due to constant heat treatment, for example, ironing, curling wands, it is easy for hair to become dry, brittle and damaged. Ochieng says to counter these adverse effects, essential oils such as avocado oil, olive oil, jasmine oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, or castor oil will come in handy. “You will need any three of these oils to make your mask.”

Procedure

Mix the three oils of your choice in relation to your hair length

Apply the mixture on the scalp and hair strands

Keep it through the night

Vinegar wash

Lifeless or dull hair is not what any bride would want to have on their wedding day. Violet Mugumya, a beautician, says this treatment will give your hair a shiny look. “Apart from being easy to make, it takes a few minutes to implement. If you have oily hair, it will strip it of the oiliness and the scalp will also become dandruff free.”

Procedure

Get half a cup of vinegar plus two cups of water and mix

Shampoo and condition your hair

Use the mixture for the last rinse

Egg and curd treatment

Mugumya shares that his treatment will nourish your hair making it bouncy and beautiful.

Procedure

Break an egg in a bowl, add a tablespoon of curd and mix

Apply the mixture to the hair and scalp

Wash off with shampoo after two to three hours

Olive oil and lime juice

Dandruff is the last thing any bride’s hair should have as it causes embarrassment and the constant itching will make it impossible for you to concentrate on anything on your big day. Ochieng says this treatment will help you to deal with dandruff as olive oil is great for nourishing dry and itchy scalps while the lime reduces the fungal infection which is the reason behind the dandruff formation.

Procedure

Five to six teaspoons of olive oil mixed with some lime juice
