Over the weekend, Kenyan singers and power couple Nameless and Wahu,  celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary with a fabulous photo shoot. The wildly charming singer and his immensely talented wife have shared so many beautiful memories perhaps it’s why they are stuck like glue.

The pair met in 1998 at a university event, where they were introduced by a mutual friend. “It was either a Miss University event or an award ceremony,” Wahu told Standard newspaper in 2016. “But our first official date was on Boxing Day,” Nameless recalls. “We had lunch at the Wimpy restaurant in Corner House. Wahu came an hour late! At the time, the central business district was quiet and deserted, so after our meal we took a nice long walk across the city, just talking and getting to know each other.”

Courtship

“Our courtship was lots of fun. We were young and carefree. We didn’t do very complicated things; we really just enjoyed each other’s company, no matter the setting. We’d go out on the rave, do picnics, go camping, watch movies, you know, your usual boyfriend/ girlfriend things,” Wahu told the newspaper.

The couple dated for seven years before he proposed.

They were wed on 10th September, 2005 in a simple intimate ceremony on the shores of Lake Naivasha and in memory of the first camping trip they went on together as students at the University of Nairobi.

Marriage

In celebration of their anniversary, the ‘sweet love’ singer took to her Instagram to share her experience.

“6 months into our marriage, I remember thinking alarrr huku nitatoboa kweli 🤣🤣🤣. And I know for a fact the feeling was mutual 🤣🤣🤣 (usidanganye!) But look at us now. 16 years later and still going strong😊😍 So much I wish I knew when I was getting married! And so much we’ve learnt and continue to learn along the way..all of which is helping us to become better people, better parents, and better partners for each other,” she wrote before wishing her husband a happy anniversary.

Nameless couldn’t hold back his love too.

“Msupa , imagine tumefika 16 years since we said I DO on 10 Sept 2005, to start this journey to be life partners together.🤟🏾🤟🏾💯💯..Yooooo! , We are learning alot and have grown a lot through this journey, wueh😅😊💪🏾 I thank God for you and the Kids💯♥️😊! I am better because of you , Tumi and Kio!😊 I thank God I can share the great, and not so great moments with you! 💪🏾💯.Life is short, let’s give our best and do our best to get the best out of it and of each other! 😊💯🙏🏿.
