When I first met Mr Eazi in Uganda in 2017, I encountered a man exuding effortless freedom, yet grounded by his immense talent and unassuming demeanour. His signature Banku music genre, a vibrant fusion of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian rhythms, radiated charisma through hits such as Leg Over, Skin Tight, and his Life Is Eazi mixtapes. On the sidelines of a press conference, I asked Eazi why he embraced such a simple lifestyle despite his growing business empire. His response was candid: he had nothing to prove.

Fast forward to 2025, and it seems Eazi was reserving his grandeur for love. Last week, the artist, known for his understated lifestyle, shattered expectations with a breathtaking $15 million (about Shs57b) wedding to actress and blogger Temiloluwa Elizabeth Ajibade, popularly known as Temi.

The extravagant celebration unfolded across three countries over three months, redefining luxury and romance. The couple’s nuptials began with an intimate civil ceremony in Monaco in May, followed by a vibrant traditional Yoruba wedding in July at the Otedola family’s opulent residence in Dubai. The festivities culminated in a spectacular white wedding in August at their cherished getaway destination: Reykjavik, Iceland. Eazi and Temi shared exclusive details of their lavish celebrations in a feature with Vogue, accompanied by stunning photography by Jose Villa.

A wedding across two continents
According to journalist Chinedu Okafor, Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola embarked on a global wedding journey, with ceremonies in Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland. The guest list was a who’s who of African elite, including Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and Nigerian billionaire Abdulsamad Rabiu.

The Icelandic church wedding, held on August 8, 2025, in Reykjavik, was an exclusive affair, with only 100 carefully selected guests in attendance, as confirmed by Temi’s father. Video clips from the event surfaced only recently, highlighting the couple’s commitment to privacy. The celebrations were a vibrant showcase of African cultural pride blended with high-fashion elegance.

Temi dazzled in a Fendi Haute Couture gown, a masterpiece inspired by Audrey Hepburn, which became a focal point of the wedding’s allure. The gown, a seamless blend of classic sophistication and modern flair, epitomised the event’s luxurious tone.

A vogue-inspired bridal masterpiece
Temi’s bridal look was nothing short of iconic. Her Fendi Haute Couture gown, drawing inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance, captivated onlookers. According to Vogue, haute couture gowns, certified by the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris, start at approximately $50,000, with the most intricate designs commanding up to $800,000. Temi’s gown, a harmonious blend of vintage charm and contemporary style, was a testament to the wedding’s opulence.

Who are Eazi and Temi?
Temiloluwa “Temi” Elizabeth Ajibade is a Nigerian actress and blogger, celebrated for her role as Moremi Oluwa in the 2020 film Citation. She later starred in The Man for the Job and Ms. Kanyin. Alongside her acting career, Temi co-hosts the podcast How Far? with her husband, Mr Eazi.

Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, known globally as Mr Eazi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record executive. He pioneered Banku music, a genre he describes as a fusion of Ghanaian highlife with Nigerian chord progressions and patterns, earning him a distinctive place in the global music scene.
