If you are indecisive, you might just miss the love of your life

I have witnessed people who turned down marriage proposals regretting their choice when the ex finally moves on and marries another person. It is a feeling that might tear you apart, witnessing another person live your life while you cry alone. When you find someone you truly love, do not waste time contemplating lest you push him/her into the arms of someone else. This reminds me of people who date for three years or more and are not sure whether that is the person he/she wants to spend the rest of their lives with.

One of the rules of shopping is not to settle with the first item you see lest you miss out on better stuff and yet you should not wait until you have so many choices that you cannot make a decision. Most times, as we shop for the life partner, we are advised to be safe as we carefully study each choice to ensure that we settle for the right fit. Well, that is a good thing to do but be mindful not to lose the right partner as you blindly crave to find other choices.

Frankly, indecisive people are greedy people. And as Eartha Kitt says, “Greed is so destructive. It destroys everything.” It all begins with not being satisfied with your partner that you dump him/her with hopes of getting a better one.

And when you get a better one, you start on a journey of unearthing the best partner. There, your heart is so greedy that you keep craving for better. In the end, you are left all alone with your tales of the past. At some point, you just have to stop and appreciate the partner that God brings your way because if you do not, you might lose a diamond while trying to chase after glitter. “A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.” They always say. Do not chase away your partner with hopes of finding a better one, because what will you do if you do not meet that prince charming.

This saying is true after all, “He who is not contented with what he has would not be contented with what he would like to have.” Socrates said.

My dear, wake up before loneliness catches up with you because when it does, it will bring along its cousin sadness and you will die a bitter, sad and lonely person who regretfully pushed everyone away until he/she was all alone.
