South Africa-based Ugandan business Woman, Zari Hassan has allegedly tied the knot with her fiancé, Shakib Lutaaya in a private ceremony held in South Africa.
The 42 year old mother of five reportedly exchanged vows with her 30 year old boyfriend in a private ‘nikkah’ surrounded by close family and friends. Nikkah is a ceremony that validates marriage in Islam.
Zari and Shakib’s relationship came to the limelight last year, 2022. Although the relationship has continuously received backlash from a section of social media users who say Shakib is too young to be Zari’s boyfriend, the two have always defended the relationship, asserting that they love each other and are adults who can do as they wish.
The couple has decided to make it official. Reports indicate that the couple exchanged vows in a private nikkah ceremony. A short video of the ceremony shared by Shakib on his social media is making the rounds on major social media outlets. In the video, Shakib can be seen putting a ring on Zari’s finger as her family and friends applaud.

Zari started dating Shakib after breaking up with GK Choppa. The two first seen with Lutaaya in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
This is the Second time Zari is getting married. She first got married to the Late Ivan Semwanga with whom she has three boys, she also has two children with Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz whom she dated before meeting Shakib.
